New York, NY February 5, 2008 – One of the nation’s largest real estate auction and accelerated marketing groups – Tranzon, LLC – just got bigger with the addition of a member company in New York City. Tranzon Integrated Property Group primarily will focus on serving New York, northern New Jersey and Connecticut. The new team joins Tranzon’s network of 15 independently owned and operated member companies that collectively have more than 20 offices across the U.S. The group from New York was formally inducted as a member of the Tranzon network at the Tranzon annual meeting, held last week in Orlando, Florida, with
more than 80 people attending from across the country.
Based in Manhattan, the New York group auctioned off almost $10 million in property in 2007 and has a wide variety of real estate experience, from commercial and industrial to residential and retail.
Oren Klein is a principal of the firm and also serves as vice president of sales. With nearly 15 years of commercial real estate experience, he is responsible for property sales, new business development and client management. His primary focus is on transactions in the Tri-State area, although his regional clients benefit from his national auction experience plus the coast-to-coast contacts offered through the Tranzon network.
Prior to the opening of Tranzon Integrated Property Group, he was a vice president of sales at a local auction company. He was charged with expanding the company’s reach into the North East, opening a New York City office with his current Tranzon colleague, Joshua Olshin. During their tenure, the team successfully established the company’s with a significant presence in the Northeast region.
Prior to entering the auction business, Klein was a partner at Blue Rock Partners, a full-service commercial investment brokerage company based in New York City, where he concentrated on the acquisition and disposition of multifamily and office properties. While there, he co-founded a web-based real estate auction site called PropertyAuction.com. An IT expert, Klein has published a series of columns on the use of technology in the commercial real estate industry and was a regular columnist for Real Estate Investment & Property Report magazine.
Klein received a B.A. from Rutgers University and is a graduate of the World Champion College of Auctioneering. He is a licensed real estate broker in NY, NJ and CT and is a member of various trade organizations including the Turnaround Management Association, the Real Estate Board of New York and the National Association of Auctioneers.
Joshua Olshin is the president and managing director of Tranzon Integrated Property Group. He has extensive experience advising corporations, financial institutions, municipalities and individuals on the disposition of real estate throughout the United States.
Prior to the opening of Tranzon Integrated Property Group, he served as a managing director and General Counsel of another auction company. With Klein, he expanded such company’s operations to the Northeast region; the duo was responsible for some of the largest sales in that company's 20- year history. Olshin also is a principal in a real estate investment/development firm and has successfully completed projects in New York, Texas, Florida and Mexico.
Prior to entering the auction business, Olshin worked as a corporate/transactional attorney in private practice for more than eight years, starting at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, then moving to Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman. During his time as an attorney, he advised many Fortune 500 companies on the acquisition and disposition of corporate assets, including real property and real estate-related assets and businesses.
Olshin graduated with a B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University; a J.D. from Northwestern Law School; and an MBA from INSEAD, in Fontainebleau, France. Professional associations include the Turnaround Management Association, the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Home Builders. Active in various charitable and civic organizations, Olshin currently serves as a member of the national and regional boards of the Friends of the Hebrew University and the Leadership Committee for ISEF.
