Richmond, VA January 2004: Michael C. Walters has been elected
to the management committee of Tranzon LLC, one of the nation’s fastest-growing
accelerated marketing and auction companies.
Headquartered in Richmond, VA, Tranzon LLC has 11 member companies and 22
offices across the U.S. Unlike many national auction and accelerated marketing
firms that operate out of one or only a limited number of offices, Tranzon has
a strategy centered on a team of professionals across the U.S. operating in the
regional markets they serve. This local-national strategy provides Tranzon
clients with the benefits of regional expertise supported with the resources of
a national company with a proven track record of generating high numbers from
the auctions they handle.
Tranzon's executive committee, which is comprised of all Tranzon partners and
functions as its board of directors, elects the management committee members.
The four-member management committee oversees the day-to-day activities of
Tranzon plus implementation of its business plans and policies.
Tranzon’s president is a fixed member of the management committee. Other
elected members serve three-year terms.
Walters became affiliated with Tranzon in November of 2001, operating Tranzon
Walters from offices in Irvine, CA. At the end of 2002, Tranzon Walters and
Remarketing Associates, an Agoura Hills, CA-based company headed by Jeff
Tanenbaum, merged to form Tranzon Asset Strategies and creating a strong
Tranzon base on the West Coast. Both Walters and Tanenbaum are senior partners
of Tranzon Asset Strategies

Walters began his auction career in 1973 and has executed hundreds of auction
sales of real estate, telecommunications equipment, and other business assets
throughout the west and southwest. He has specialized knowledge in asset
disposition, providing services to individuals, developers, corporations,
financial institutions, bankruptcy courts and governments. In addition to
holding a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of
North Texas, Walters completed graduate studies in real estate appraisal and
finance at Southern Methodist University and pursued graduate – level studies
in environmental issues in real estate. A licensed California real estate
broker, Walters is a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (C.A.I.),
a designation program offered through the Auction Marketing Institute (A.M.I.).
He also holds an accredited senior appraiser designation (A.S.A.) with the
American Society of Appraisers and is a licensed and bonded auctioneer in
California, Texas and Florida. Professional affiliations include the following:
National Auctioneers Association; Certified Auctioneers Institute; American
Society of Appraisers; California State Auctioneers Association; National
Association of Realtors; California Association of Realtors; California
Bankruptcy Forum; California Receivers Forum; and the Turnaround Management
Association In addition to Walters and Levin, Tranzon’s two other management
committee members are Steven I. Fox, who heads Tranzon Fox’s Tidewater region
and is based in Virginia Beach, VA; and Thomas W. Saturley, who runs Tranzon
Asset Properties from a base in Portland, ME.
Walter Driggers, who recently completed his term on Tranzon’s management
committee, works the Central Florida region as head of Tranzon Driggers in
Hernando, FL. He continues to serve as Tranzon’s director of training.
